When you have nobody who will listen to your ghost story.

Beck kissed her face all over, tears staining her cheeks.  “I never thought I would even get to see you again.”  She hugged her tightly, relishing the moment and feeling the warmth of her body, breathing in her scent.  It was difficult not to give in completely and let herself get carried away by having Beck so close, but she pulled away.  “I can’t just come back to you, Beck.”  Beck continued to cry, feeling as if her heart would give out at any moment.  “I know.  I’m so sorry.  I can’t apologize enough in this lifetime to heal the wounds I’ve caused you.”  Palmer turned her back to Beck, unable to look at her. 

“I didn’t know how I felt about you anymore.  And seeing you now, everything feels exactly like it did before.  My heart racing, skin tingling.  I didn’t know I could still be in love with you the way I was so long ago.  And I love my girlfriend.  She is amazing.  But Beck, you are the love of my life.  You have always been, and will always be, the one I’m meant to be with.  That is why my girlfriend is the strongest, most remarkable person I know.  She not only knows it, but she understands it.  She realized that finding you was a must even before I did and urged me to.  She is ready to let me go because, deep down, I was never able to let you go.” 

She finally turned to look at Beck, who was closer to her than she anticipated.  She instinctively backed away and rested against the wall, her hand on her chest.  Beck moved closer to her and whispered, “Palmer,” her breath settling on Palmer’s skin.  “Oh, my Palmer, you have no idea how much I’ve missed you.”  She gently pulled Palmer’s face toward her own with her hands, their lips almost touching.  Beck hesitated for a moment, she didn’t want to rush her.  But the closeness and intensity was more than either one could bear.

“I never noticed that ring on your finger.”

“So why start now?”

Oh crap!!  I was hoping nobody would find me!!  >.>
